How do you know when a server will wipe?

We use the wipe schedule the server publishes and the wipes we have actually seen it do. If the recent wipes follow a clear pattern, we trust that pattern. If not, we count from the last wipe using the published schedule. Monthly servers and any that miss their slot wipe at force wipe.

What does the ~ mean?

The tilde means the time is an estimate, not a promise. A server owner can wipe whenever they want, so the real time can move by an hour or a day. Hover over the estimate to see the reason. Due means the estimated time has already passed and the new map should be up soon.

Why are so many servers listed on force wipe day?

Facepunch releases a monthly update on the first Thursday of the month, usually around 19:00 UK time. Every Rust server wipes for it, including ones whose own schedule would have wiped that day anyway. That makes the list much longer than usual.
